Need to take a payment without booking an appointment first? Quick payments make it easy to get paid on the spot, whether it’s for a walk-in, tip, add-on, or merchandise.

There’s no need to link a payment to a scheduled service; just enter the amount and charge your customer with cash or your connected payment integration.

How to collect a quick payment

  1. Log into your mobile app

  2. Click the + symbol

  3. Select ‘Quick payment’

  4. Enter the amount to charge

  5. Choose the payment method

  6. Collect the payment directly

1. What is a 'Quick payment'?

Quick payments is a new flow in the mobile app that lets a business take a payment instantly, without linking it to an appointment via the calendar.

2. Where can users access quick payments?

  • Currently mobile app only (iOS & Android).

  • Found under the + icon in calendar

3. Who can use it?

  • Any Setmore account that has payments or enabled via Stripe or Square.

  • If no payments are connected, it will prompt users to integrate.

4. What payment methods are supported?
We support the same payment methods available via our usual calendar payment flow, depending on the account’s integration configuration

  • Card entry (manual or via reader)

  • Tap to Pay (if available on device)

  • Cash

5. Does the customer get a receipt?

Yes — a digital receipt is sent automatically to the customer’s email or phone (depending on what is entered at checkout). The transaction can also be viewed via Payment History.

6. Where do quick payment transactions show up?

  • They appear in Payment History inside the Payments tab.

  • They are not linked to a customer appointment in the calendar.

7. Can users refund quick payments?

Yes — follow the standard refund process either via Payments > Payment History or via the appointment widget directly.

8. Can users add notes or a description?

In the first iteration we do not provide an option to enter a description. We will bring this feature in the next iteration, which will allow both us as a platform and our users to reference a quick payment and what it was used for.

9. How do the fees work via a payment made via 'Quick payment'?

The fees remain the same as existing payments made via in-person or online.

10. Which build do I need to be on to access quick payments?:
